Be careful folks, there’s a phishing email going around claiming that someone logged into your account. Always check who the email came from.
It will take you to a fake Roblox url.-@MaximumADHD in this Tweet.
With new phishing emails going around to developers, it is important to stay informed on how to avoid getting your account compromised from one of these emails.
What's Real and What's Fake?
In all of this deception and deceit, there is a surefire way to detect false emails every time. And that's by checking three key features on emails you receive from Roblox.
Check the Profile Image
The profile image matters a lot more than you would think. If the profile image is not the Roblox logo, you can be sure that it is not coming from a legitimate Roblox email. This is true because the logo is verified by email providers to belong to the company sending the email before a profile picture can be set for the email by a company.
Check the Blue Checkmark Next to the Email
Another easy way to verify if an email from Roblox is fake or not is by checking if there is a blue checkmark next to the sender's name. In the case of automated emails, they will usually come from "Roblox no-reply". Next to this, you should see a blue checkmark. If you do not, it isn't Roblox sending that email. Email providers have strict requirements set to prevent abuse of the blue verification checkmark, so you can be nearly 100% sure that if it has the blue checkmark, it is from Roblox.
Check the Email's Domain Name
After these two steps, you should check the domain name (located next to the sender's name). If the email isn't being sent from an email that ends in @roblox.com, it is not a legitimate email. Often times, bad actors will abuse privacy-focused email providers like Tuta and Proton Mail to send out these kinds of targeted emails.
